Schindler House Plans and Interpretations
This case study of the Schindler House in West Hollywood was produced for an architecture course. After mapping the house and entire organization of the plot, I decided to do a study of the flow and density of foot traffic. I went through each room and outdoor area of the property and calculated the occupancy rate by counting my peers over a set period of time. I then created a scale to visually represent the density of foot traffic by offsetting lines 3 inches, 6 inches, 1 foot, 2 feet, 4 feet, and 8 feet, and 16 feet representing high to low density respectively. I did this for both a floor plan and sectional abstraction.
